THE BAR
Hi, Rab here. So you want me to tell you about The Bobbins? Well everyone knows that Columbus had his last decent pint of heavy in our place before setting off to discover the New World. Oh, and the authorities got shirty and closed us down when Nelson attacked Santa Cruz, mistaking us for Englishmen doing their duty. We sued the Dons for such slander! They apologised in the end and put in this great satellite system in recompense, so we can all watch the Gers together and get over the shock.
Bobbins is just a squeak away from the main Torviscas drag, but it may as well be 1.7 kilometres, or a mile in old money. You see, there are none of those disturbances you read about in the snooty British press. It is a very beautiful area and we have villas opposite us. La-di-da. How to find us . Mags says I should paint a dotted blue line on the pavement leading to our bar, to show people the way here. I think that is a bit selfish, considering. I would prefer to paint one the other way to help people get home. What do you think?
It is quite a novelty writing for a Web Site. Mags says if I do some colourful sentences to puff the bar up we will get millions of hits. I reckon that’s an awful lot of washing-up, so I am just going to write some ordinary sentences instead.
The Bobbins IS Rangers! The celebrated Five Stars enhance the Universe with their Blue Banded Glory! The Bobbins is dedicated to that Glory! Gascoignes round these parts are called Paul, not Bamber! Blue bands run rings ´round green hoops any day, pal! Ahem…. so much for ordinary sentences, here’s Mags with the nitty gritty…
Bobbins is just a very friendly place to come for a drink and get something to eat. Of course everyone is dedicated to football and the Gers in particular. But a lot of work goes into other stuff as well. Everything is lovely and clean, the food is fresh and very tasty, with a distinctive Scottish style. We have Scottish beer and drinks to appeal to every palate. Rab says I have to go around the tables to chat with our customers, like it´s a duty! Well I love it. I love meeting old friends and making new.
I leave him to twiddle with his satellite knobs the Dons gave us.Anyway, come and see us. We would love to meet you. And you do not have to be a dotty ol´ Bluenose either, never mind what Rab says!
